On A Higher Ground    (Rob Glaser)

By the waterside, waiting for the tide.

Changes everywhere; hard to really care.

Sellers of salvations soothe our fear that death ends life.

Leaders of the nations give a purpose to our strife.

For these small contributions, they demand repayment every day.

We call for retributions, but from far above the fray,

Carried away, carried away, carried away,

      On a higher ground.

Young and very wise, soon cut down to size.

We seemed very strong, but just not for long.

Those less philosophic never see another side.

We're paralyzed by logic, they are energized by pride.

We make our contribution, but in words that few can understand.

We're filled with resolution, but when struggle's close at hand

We're carried away, carried away, carried away,

      Far from the primitive turmoil,

Safe from a world that's in free fall,

      Posing questions, small dissensions,

      Not threatening at all;

        On a higher ground.

By the waterside, waiting for the tide.

Changes everywhere; hard to really care.
