On Our Way

Winds of autumn seem to conjure up the past,

Shades of the things we used to be.

Fighting our visions, doubting decisions,

Not even sure if we should speak;

Wanting our hearts to touch, but still too weak.

  Isn't it hard to believe

It was chance that caused our lives to interweave?

Even though it took quite awhile to be sure what we'd begun,

Sometimes we kissed, sometimes we missed,

In time we won, oh, in time we won.

Now we're on our way, we're on our way.

Gazing at the stars that some would claim to read,

Bathed in their ageless mystery.

When you've felt magic, lovely, then tragic,

Trusted in spells where none could be,

Planned for the worst, and then found ecstasy,

  Isn't it hard to believe

It was chance that caused our lives to interweave?

Even though it took quite awhile to be sure what we'd begun,

Sometimes we kissed, sometimes we missed,

In time we won, oh, in time we won.

Now we're on our way, we're on our way, we're on our way.
